The Seoul Metropolitan Government from Oct. 19-25 will host the Seoul Silver Grass Festival at World Cup Park and Haneul Park in Seoul's Mapo-gu District.
Visitors can enjoy a great view from the observatory while strolling along at Haneul Park, which was a landfill for 15 years from 1978-93. After soccer's world governing body FIFA decided in 1996 to have Korea and Japan co-host the 2002 World Cup, the city in 1998 decided to build Seoul World Cup Stadium in the Sangam-dong neighborhood and turn the landfill and vicinity into parks.
Today, Haneul Park is a beautiful place to rest and walk and hosts the festival every autumn.
