The finals of this year's K-Pop World Festival are slated for Oct. 24 at the main stadium of Changwon Sports Park in Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do Province.

Marking its 13th anniversary this year, the festival is a Hallyu (Korean Wave) extravaganza with the participation of K-pop fans around the world. The regional qualifiers were held at 64 diplomatic offices in 62 countries and Korean Cultural Centers abroad.

Eight teams from the U.S., U.K., Germany, Myanmar, Sweden, Spain, Singapore and Kazakhstan will advance to the finals to perform on stage with K-pop stars such as Xikers and Triple S. The performance will be aired on Nov. 7 at 11:40 p.m. Korean Standard Time on KBS 2TV.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosts the annual festival to raise global interest in and understanding of Korean culture by Hallyu fans around the world.
